Roof Restoration in Frensham

Moran Roofing Specialists, Farnham have completed a sympathetic roof restoration in Frensham, Surrey. 

 The cottage was built in 1866, so our primary concern during this project was to undertake the necessary refurbishments whilst still maintaining the aesthetic integrity of a building of this age.

We took great care and consideration when choosing replacement tiles and fittings, sourcing from local reclamation yards. All ridge tiles and verges were re-bedded using a lime mortar mix. The lead flashing was replaced on the chimneys, which were re-flaunched, with new pots and cowls fitted sympathetically.

We replaced 100 delaminated and ‘blown’ imperial bricks on the more exposed gable end of the property. These were cut out carefully using an Arbortech saw, and were replaced like-for-like. The bricks were sourced from a reclamation yard and re-bedded using a lime mortar mix.

“Lee Moran, Sam Jordan and Gavin Hack were considerate and conscientious all the while works were ongoing, and overall we feel we reached our initial objectives. The cottage has kept its charm whilst meeting contemporary roofing specifications,” said the owners.

Upon completion, the cottage roof had been sympathetically refurbished.
