New Roof for Grayswood School
Moran roofing installed a new roof for Grayswood School, Haslemere. Learn how they got top marks for their roofing services!
The existing roof had been in place for a considerable period of time. As a consequence, many of the clay tiles had become delaminated and porous. We stripped the roof of all the old tiles, felt and batten, treating all rafters and joists to prevent woodworm and dry rot. We then installed new batten, breathable membrane felt and new Rosemary clay tiles.
All existing lead flashing was replaced with Ubbink lead substitute in order to deter theft. For the same reason, the lead gullies to the front of the building were replaced with RubberBond FleeceBack single membrane. This is a BBA-approved, cold-applied, environmentally friendly system with a proven life expectancy of over 50 years.
The existing ridge tiles were replaced with a ventilated dry fitted system. The roof of the school will now not need to be replaced for many years. The Board of Governors was extremely satisfied with all the work the company undertook, which was completed ahead of schedule, so as not to disrupt the beginning of the autumn term.
Our client was very pleased with the new, correctly welded lead tray and the quality of the newly built chimney. We also re-tiled the area between the bonnet hips, from the eaves to the chimney. tiles.
