Moran Roofing invests continually in training for our highly skilled team to ensure they are at the forefront of safety and all aspects of roofing services, which in turn offers peace of mind for our customers across Surrey and Hampshire.

We are delighted to share details formal qualifications that our roofing team have achieved below. The team also have onsite shadowing training from our expert in-house tradesmen. The team’s Diplomas and other Certificates are available to view if required.
IPAF / Static & Mobile Boom   
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) training programme is globally recognised, developed by leading industry professionals.  It covers mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) including boom, scissor, 1b, 3a and 3b categories of machines, mast climbing work platforms (MCWPs) and construction hoists.

Emergency First Aid
How to respond in emergency situations by providing the relevant treatment. The training consists of important theory followed by practical work with dummies and other equipment.

Basic Fire safety Awareness
Teaches preventive measures that will eliminate or minimize causes of fire or fire hazards in the workplace, and to teach proper emergency and evacuation procedures in the event of a fire. Need url of training course/company.

Abrasive Wheels
Raises awareness of the dangers associated with abrasive wheels and the practical steps that can be taken to minimise and control the risks that they present.

Asbestos awareness
This training raises awareness of the dangers from asbestos and the practical steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of exposure.

Working at Height
Raises awareness of the dangers associated with working at height and the practical steps that can be taken to minimise and control the risks that it presents.

Harness training
Covers different types of PPE including safety lanyards, helmets, connectors and suitable anchor systems and how to conduct pre-use safety checks.

RoofCert Roof Tiling and Slating Accreditation
Managed by NFRC CPS, the UK’s only national roofing accreditation scheme that gives clients and homeowners the confidence that the people working on their roofs can do the job properly.

NCTS Essential Lead Welding & Bossing (Masters)
Develop the skills to tackle most welding situations found on site including butt, lap, fillet incline and vertical.  Practice and develop bossing skill, to allow for the most complex shapes to be created out of a flat sheet without leaving a tool mark on the surface of the metal, or any significant reduction to its original thickness.

LSA Sheet Lead Bossing and Welding
Covers complicated roof shapes and casting methods required for the maintenance of the nation’s historic and listed buildings.

Cskills Awards Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations (construction)

Learners must demonstrate and recognise their skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrate their competence in a real workplace environment to work as a Roofer.

Cskills Awards Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Carpentry
This qualification enables the learner, to demonstrate and recognise their skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate competence in a real workplace environment to work as a Site Carpenter within the construction industry.

City & Guilds Level 2 Qualification in Roofing
A Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Roofing Occupations is official recognition of the knowledge and skills needed to work in roofing.

Certificate of competence in remote pilot theoretical knowledge/general airmanship syllabus.

Civil Aviation Authority Permission / small unmanned aircraft
The person who completes the registration must be authorised to be the accountable manager for drones and in the organisation.

The accountable manager will be responsible for making sure that the organisation flies and uses drones safely and legally.

Wildlife awareness for Roofing Contractors
Give delegates a good understanding of the ecology of bats and nesting birds, the legislation that protects them and some best practice measures to adopt when carrying out roofing works.

IOR – Upgrade to MIoR Institute of Roofing
Institute of Roofing are a proactive organisation with a genuine desire to drive, increase and maintain professionalism in supervision, management and ownership within the roofing industry; raising awareness and promoting roofing as a truly specialised sector of industry.
Every Member has at least 10 years’ experience in their respective roofing discipline and shall be holding of NVQ L5 or above or hold academic achievement at an equivalent level in a relevant qualification.
Or
Every Member shall have at least 10 years’ of experience in their respective roofing discipline and Submit a project assignment (subject agreed by the Board of Governors) and/or attend a subsequent professional interview.
